Tysons, VA

During Tammie’s visit to the NADA headquarters in Tysons, VA, she met with Camron Wilson, Vice President of Education and Training, to explore opportunities for collaboration. A Visit to the National Building Museum – Washington D.C.
During Tammie’s visit to the National Building Museum, she met with President and Executive Director Aileen Fuchs to discuss their shared mission of inspiring the next generation of builders, makers, and leaders. They explored ways to align the themes of Breaking Ground, Breaking Glass Ceilings with the Museum’s educational initiatives, particularly in preparation for Tammie’s participation in the 2025 Big Build Exhibition. Speaking to NAHB’s leadership team, Tammie shared key insights from her book Breaking Ground, Breaking Glass Ceilings, focusing on themes of individuality, resilience, emotional intelligence, and leadership. Tammie inspires young minds at ida B. Wells Elementary – Memphis, TN

Tammie had the pleasure of reading The House that She Built to the eager students of Ida B. Wells Elementary. This event was more than just a storytime session; it was an opportunity to plant the seeds of inclusivity and empowerment in young minds.

The House that She Built tells the inspiring story of women who break stereotypes and excel in construction and design—a traditionally male-dominated industry. By introducing these themes early on,  career biases that can form as early as age four are challenged. The event underscored the importance of exposing children to diverse role models and career possibilities, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their passions without limitations.
